Creating Products for Adult Consumers

Our company’s product stewardship goal is to reduce EHS impacts while upholding standards that result in high-quality products and services. We strive to integrate product stewardship efforts into all aspects of our operations. Light-weighting aluminum beverage containers and lids, and reducing secondary packaging materials, such as paperboard, corrugated and liner materials are some of the primary ways we achieve this goal. In addition, our product line is continually evolving to meet the health and lifestyle needs of adult consumers.

Litter Prevention Initiatives

Through sponsorships and partnerships, we participate in public campaigns to reduce litter. Many Anheuser-Busch facilities participate in local litter prevention campaigns and cleanup events. We believe we should leave the places we live and work a little better than we found them. Employees of the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, lid plant participate in the Adopt-A-Street program. Following the theory that people are less likely to throw trash on a clean street than on a dirty one, they noticed for the first time in 2006, that their adopted street was cleaner than normal. Since their first cleanup in August 2003, plant volunteers have contributed 230 hours and removed 2,100 pounds of trash.

Supporting Public Education and Efforts to Reduce Litter

Anheuser-Busch has actively led the way in the fight against litter, and has supported a number of anti-litter campaigns throughout the United States. The company was a charter member of Keep America Beautiful’s Pitch-In campaign in the 1950s and has supported Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s largest litter prevention organization, for more than 50 years.

We work to communicate positive messages about recycling and litter prevention through a variety of print advertisements, and encourage people to dispose of waste properly, sorting and recycling whenever possible.

Creating Products for Adult Consumers

As the lifestyles and needs of our consumers change, we work hard to adapt to their changing preferences. With growing demand for organic foods and beverages on the rise, we have developed two organic beers certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA): Wild Hop Lager and Stone Mill Pale Ale.

In addition to organic beers, we are also brewing the first sorghum beer available nationwide. Redbridge is brewed with sorghum, making it safe for people with wheat and barley allergies. This new product will make it safe for the estimated 3 million Americans who suffer from wheat allergies to enjoy the kind of beer that fits into their lifestyle. These product innovations demonstrate our commitment to providing an appropriate beer to all our adult consumers.
